Attention all students:  We are beginning a literature unit in fiction.  We will be reading a number of stories out of the Interactive Reader.  Please bring your book to class EVERY DAY. 

Attention students:  Everyone should have had their new book approved in the genre of Science Fiction, Fantasy, or Horror.  First reading log check is Friday, October 16.  Happy reading!

 Based on the California Language Arts Standards, this course provides in-depth study of both literature and written language methods.  While the district literature book provides the basis for the program, students will also be exposed to supplemental texts, both fiction and non-fiction.  Students will have an opportunity to engage in activities that will help them become more proficient readers.  They will show their understanding and analysis of text through writing, discussion, and speaking.   Language conventions and editing techniques will also be included.
